Lake exploration
Our comfortable catamaran allows for an extensive outing on the lake. Enjoy the sunrise at the lake while sipping on your cup of coffee in a comfortable chair. Lake viewings include river otters, caiman, monkeys, and many wading birds.
Spider monkeys
There are several group of resident spider monkeys at and near the lodge. You can see them from the lodge, in the trails or from the lake.
Canopy tower
The 32 m high canopy tower overlooks part of the lake and the beautiful forest of the area. If you are patient you may see parrots or monkeys hanging out on the tree as well.
Macaws and claylicks
Macaws are very common on the Las Piedras river and are often seen on the claylicks along the river.
Forest and trails
The 1000 hectare tourism concession has many forest trails which lead to forest giants like the kapok and shihuahuaco trees, eagle nests. Our local machiguenga guides are expert forest people and will show you fruits and interesting plants along the way.
Machiguenga story time
The Machiguenga are the traditional rainforest peoples of southeastern Peru. Their knowledge of the forest is simply incredible. The team at Soledad is Machiguenga. Learn from them how to listen to the sounds of wild, identify footprints and spot the smaller of the forests citizens.
Lake exploration on own
You can grab a kayak and explore the lake at your own pace and on your own.
Sundowner in the canopy
Spending the late afternoon on the canopy tower is a very special experience. You can enjoy it in silence and with a glass of wine, or have a guide teach you about the calls of our rainforest friends.
The River Wolves
Extinct in many rainforest regions we are happy to have a resident group of Giant river otters on Lago Soledad. You can hear them from the lodge and see them during the lake outings.
Birding
Our unique location by an oxbow lake and the intact forest of our 1000 h tourism concession and the area that surrounds it is a perfect place to pep up your bird list. Expert guides are available upon request and can help you find the 619 species in the area.

Sahaja Yoga helps to restore balance and well-being. It revitalizes our energies, restores optimism, peace and contentment. It helps to self-regulate your attention and focus on the present moment with curiosity and openness.
Yoga by the lake
We offer yoga sessions upon request. Choose an invigorating power yoga class or a more meditative yoga session. If you prefer to do your own practice you can of course borrow a mat and enjoy the surroundings on your own.
Photography
Our experience with renowned photographers allows us to set up blinds, camera traps and towers wherever needed. We continuously research behaviour-patterns of wildlife and birds to give you the best possible opportunities for "that" fabled shot.
Local Chocolate Farm visit
Our neighbors at Lucerna are cacao farmers. It is exciting to learn about the original chocolate tree and see how the cacao farmers harvest cacao and turn it into chocolate.
River expeditions
The Las Piedras River offers a good chance of tapir and jaguar viewing along the river. We offer full day and 2 day river expeditions.
Jaguar search along the river
Driving up and down the river will increase the chances of seeing a wild jaguar and plenty of other wildlife.
