Wildlife at the Lake and in the forest

“Lago” meaning “lake” in Spanish, which leads to one of the big attractions at “Lago Soledad”: the horseshoe lake in middle of the Peruvian rainforest. At more than 3 km long and between 4 and 9 meters deep – it’s one of the best spots to observe wildlife while gliding slowly and silently down the amazon on a large catamaran or a kayak.

The forest is rich on wildlife – big and small. Butterfly experts, birders, primatologists, photographers and wildlife enthusiasts flock to “Lago Soledad” to marvel at the beauty of the Peruvian Amazon. While nature lovers and solitude seekers come to enjoy the peace, away from the masses. Located in the centre of a large protected area, which provides a wide-ranging habitat for species, who require great roaming range – like the mighty Jaguar, larger primates or howler- and spider monkeys. Another highlight being the 3 km long oxbow lake, a home to a family of giant otters, black caiman, piranhas and a large number of birds.

Have a look at what experts uploaded on their visit to “Lago Soledad” and the “Amazon Research and Conservation Center” (registered name):
